Dishwasher Installation Edmonton

If you are building a house in Edmonton, or you are replacing an older you will wan dishwasher in Edmonton to know what dishwasher installation in Edmonton costs.

If you are building a new house in Edmonton or maybe you have had your kitchen renovated and the dishwasher has been moved you will require a new dishwasher installation.  Depending on the make of the dishwasher you might need to drill holes through the cabinet or through the kick space then into the cabinet.

Of course if your basement is open you could just drill holes into the floor and run the water lines and drain lines through the ceiling space below.

When doing a replacement dishwasher installation then you should be able to use the holes that are already in the cabinets.  Unless you have a different make, then you will have to follow what they require.

I believe the cost for a installation of a dishwasher in Edmonton is around $250, this may have changed since I have written this article.

If you are going to install a dishwasher yourself in your Edmonton house then you need to have a few supplies.  I suggest you use a flexible braided water line instead of a copper water line like a lot of plumbers use.  I feel the flexible water line is less likely to kink and is easier to hook up.

You will also need an electrician to disconnect the old dishwasher.  Most plumbers will do this themselves.  You may need a hole saw and wrenches and screwdrivers.  If you do not have a dishwasher drain under your sink you will need to cut the pipe and install one.  Most houses in Edmonton will have ABS pipe, but I have run into PVC and copper drain lines as well.  With the odd brass drain lines that hook up to an old galvanized drain.

If you have a really old dishwasher then you will need some help removing it from under the counter top.  Careful not to scratch the floor.  Measure the new dishwasher and raise the legs if necessary.  Now feed the drain line through the hole and push the dishwasher into place.  Use a level to make sure the dishwasher is sitting level.

Now hook up the drain line, water line, and electrical.  Flip the breaker and turn on the water, and test.

From start to finish the job can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours.
